Welcome to 237marketplace.com. By accessing or using our website, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before using our platform.

1. Introduction

237marketplace.com is an online marketplace in Cameroon with two ways to buy and sell:

  • Classified ads: individuals and businesses post single items. Buyers contact the seller and agree the price, payment and delivery directly with them.
  • Shops: verified businesses (“Shops”) open a shop page and sell products that buyers order on the site and pay for by cash on delivery.

By using this platform, you confirm that you accept these Terms and Conditions and agree to follow all applicable laws and regulations.

2. User Accounts

An account is required to post ads or open a shop. Buyers may order from Shops without an account.

Users agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Keep login credentials secure
  • Be responsible for activities under their account
  • Update account information when necessary

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. Listings and Products

Sellers and Shops are responsible for all products, descriptions, images, prices, and information they post on the platform.

By posting ads or shop products, you agree that:

  • Products must be legal and permitted under applicable laws
  • Listings must not contain false, misleading, or deceptive information
  • You own or have the right to sell the products you list
  • Posted content must not violate intellectual property rights
  • Prices shown must be the real price the buyer will pay for the product

237marketplace.com reserves the right to remove listings or products that violate our policies.

4. Prohibited Items and Activities

The following are prohibited on the platform:

  • Illegal products or services
  • Counterfeit or stolen goods
  • Weapons or dangerous items
  • Drugs or controlled substances
  • Fraudulent listings or fake orders
  • Offensive, abusive, or misleading content
  • Spam or unauthorized advertising
  • Asking shop buyers to pay in advance outside the platform’s cash on delivery process

Users engaging in prohibited activities may have their accounts or shops permanently suspended.

5. Classified Ads

For classified ads, 237marketplace.com only connects buyers and sellers. We are not a party to the sale, we do not collect payment for ad items, and we do not handle their delivery.

We do not guarantee:

  • Product quality or authenticity
  • Delivery of items
  • Accuracy of ads
  • Buyer or seller behavior

Buyers are encouraged to inspect items and verify sellers before making any payment.

6. Shops

6.1 Opening a shop

To open a shop, a seller must choose a shop plan, pay the plan fee and submit accurate shop details. Every shop is verified by a 237marketplace agent and approved by us before it goes live. We may refuse or remove any shop at our discretion.

6.2 Shop plans

Shop plans are priced by the number of products a shop may list and are valid for 6 months or 1 year, as shown on the shop plans page at the time of payment. We send reminders before a plan expires. If a plan is not renewed, the shop is paused until the plan is renewed.

6.3 Commission

237marketplace.com charges Shops a commission of 10% of the product price on every product sold through the platform. Because buyers pay the Shop by cash on delivery, the Shop must pay the commission to 237marketplace.com by MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money within 7 days of delivering the order. Unpaid commission may lead to the shop being paused or closed.

6.4 Shop responsibilities

Each Shop is the seller of its products and is responsible for:

  • Contacting the buyer promptly to confirm each order, the delivery time and any delivery fee
  • Delivering the order in good condition and collecting payment on delivery
  • The quality, safety and authenticity of its products
  • Setting and honouring its own returns and refund policy, and telling buyers about it before they order
  • Keeping its products, prices and stock up to date

7. Buying from Shops

  • Orders: When you place an order, it is sent to the Shop that sells the product. An order is a request to buy; the Shop will contact you to confirm it.
  • Payment: Shop orders are paid by cash on delivery. You pay the Shop when you receive your item.
  • Delivery: Each Shop delivers its own orders. Delivery areas, times and fees are set by the Shop and confirmed with you before delivery.
  • Returns and refunds: Each Shop sets its own returns and refund policy. Please ask the Shop before you order and check your item on delivery, before you pay.
  • Problems: If you cannot resolve a problem with a Shop, contact us. We will try to help both sides reach a fair solution and may take action against Shops that do not follow these terms, but 237marketplace.com is not the seller and is not obliged to refund any order.

8. Payments and Fees

Paid services on the platform include ad posting fees, optional promotions (such as Top Ads), shop plans and shop commissions. All applicable fees are shown before payment. Fees payable to 237marketplace.com are paid by MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money, and may be processed by third-party payment providers.

9. Intellectual Property

All website content including logos, text, graphics, design, and software belongs to 237marketplace.com unless otherwise stated.

Users may not copy, reproduce, or distribute website content without permission.

10. User Content

By uploading content to the platform, including ads, shop details, logos and product photos, users grant 237marketplace.com a non-exclusive right to use, display, and promote such content for marketplace operations and marketing purposes.

Users remain responsible for their uploaded content.

11. Privacy

Your use of the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We are committed to protecting user information and maintaining platform security.

12. Limitation of Liability

237marketplace.com shall not be liable for:

  • Losses resulting from transactions between users, including orders placed with Shops
  • The quality, delivery or condition of products sold by sellers or Shops
  • Fraudulent activities by third parties
  • Service interruptions
  • Errors in listings or user content
  • Indirect or consequential damages

Users use the platform at their own risk.

13. Account and Shop Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts or shops that:

  • Violate these Terms and Conditions
  • Engage in fraudulent activities
  • Repeatedly fail to deliver orders or receive serious complaints from buyers
  • Do not pay plan fees or commissions
  • Harm the platform or other users

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the platform after updates means users accept the revised terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws applicable in Cameroon.
